Lawson suggested he could get used to the Red Bull car. New Red Bull driver Liam Lawson said what he thinks about the role of team-mate Max Verstappen, whose driving style is considered specific.
I don`t know if I believe that much in different styles of flying. There are certain things you like about the car, but I`ve also spent a lot of time developing the car as a junior and reserve driver - I think I understand how it works quite well.
But I don`t quite believe it when they say: The car doesn`t suit your driving style. We are racers, we are professionals, and we have to adapt, " said the New Zealander.
Liam also reflected on the fate of his predecessors - Pierre Gasly and Alex Albon:
You can look from the outside and think: This seems to be how they felt. But I don`t know what it was like for them. I think if you`re paired with Max, you have to be realistic and understand that he`s the fastest guy on the grid right now and you`re not going to beat him by half a second.
This simply won`t happen. For me, it`s more of an opportunity to learn from the best.
Red Bull announced the transfer of Lawson. Liam partnered Verstappen and replaced Perez
Lawson`s 11th Grand Prix - the fewest of any driver promoted to Red Bull from a junior team
