Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood has been cleared of rape charges.


Let`s remember that in January 2022, the 21-year-old footballer was detained at his home after a series of photos appeared on social networks that were posted by Greenwood`s ex-girlfriend, who said that she had been assaulted.


The footballer was suspected of rape, assault, sexual assault and death threats. On February 2, 2022, he was released on bail. His bail was extended in June.


In October 2022, Greenwood was arrested for violating bail conditions - he had contact with a girl who accused him of rape.


Today, Greater Manchester Police announced that Greenwood had been cleared of all of the above charges.


The criminal case against the 21-year-old man in connection with the investigation, which began in January 2022, has been discontinued. Given the widespread media coverage of the case, we advise that he is no longer being prosecuted, " Greater Manchester Police said.
