The American had previously raced for Williams in first practice ahead of the Mexico City Grand Prix, but was two laps short of earning one super license point.
In this regard, Williams decided to help Sargeant and put him behind the wheel again in practice before the stage in Brazil - despite the fact that the stage in Sao Paulo involves a sprint and there will be only two practices over the course of the weekend.
Sargeant will ride for Williams in the second practice, which will take place on Saturday morning, before the sprints. In the cockpit of the car he will replace Alex Albon.
