Soccer picks A fantastic goal and a missed penalty led to the failure of Dortmund

Borussia (Dortmund) made another mistake in the Bundesliga this season. Edin Tarzic`s team finished 1-1 at home to last-placed Mainz. An outstanding goal by Levin Oztunali put the visitors ahead in the 56th minute before Toma Munier equalized. Marco Reus missed a penalty and Mainz hit the crossbar twice.

Despite the difference in rankings and potential, the result is not such a big surprise given that Dortmund lost its last two games analyzed by today soccer tips at Signal Iduna Park against this opponent last year. After this result, the `yellow-blacks` are fourth in the standings and are four points behind the leader Bayern, who will play tomorrow.

After the break, Dortmund`s game did not go well, and in the 56th minute Mainz surprisingly took the lead. Levin Oztunali`s fantastic performance led to the discovery of the result. He tried, faked and with an incredible shot sent the ball into the upper left corner of Burke. The goal further confused the hosts and a little later the opponent could double his lead. After a corner kick, Huck shot with his head and the ball hit the crossbar. After an hour of play, Terzic took out 17-year-old Bellingham and put 16-year-old Yusuf Mukoko into play. The younger talent was the basis of the equalizer in the 73rd minute. He managed to catch a ball and returned it from the outline to the penalty area, it was not cleared well and reached Munier, who sent it into the net with a precise shot. The Belgian defender could have become an absolute hero for the hosts, as he won a penalty seconds later. The former PSG player entered the penalty area and was tripped by Huck. However, Marco Reus missed the penalty kick, sending the ball past the door.




Terzic`s team pressed, but without a clear idea, and in the 78th minute the crossbar saved him for the second time. After Latza hit the ball, the ball hit the crossbar and walked in front of the goal line. Until the end, Dortmund attacked, but did not create a real goal danger. Mainz, on the other hand, could twice reach a new goal after excellent counterattacks, which were not completed successfully.
